Brief

The Kangaroo International Mathematics Competition is considered one of the largest international competitions in the field of mathematics. The Kangaroo competition is held in more than (95) countries around the world yearly, since it was first established in France in 1991, more than 6 million students have participated in it. Since the year of 2022, Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness has been determined to organize the competition annually in the State of Kuwait with the intention of promoting mathematical thinking and mental challenge among students.

Schedule & Timeframe

Participants Terms and Conditions:

Registration for the competition is made through the official Kangaroo website in Kuwait: www.kangarookw.org, and will be conducted in 2 phases with the following conditions:

Phase 1

All registered students will be examined online
(April 11th and 12th, 2025).

Phase 2

Those who score more than 70% in first phase will be examined on campus (April 18th and 19th , 2025).
  • The competition is open for only residents in Kuwait.
  • The student should be committed to the dates and times of the exam (no postponing is allowed).
  • The student must enter all his/her data completely and correctly.
  • Participation is free of charge.

Competition grade, level, and exam duration

Awards

Ranks are calculated according to the following terms and conditions:

 

  • Students who score 70% and above in the first phase (online test) qualify for the second phase (on-campus test).
  • The date of the second phase (on-campus test) is on 18th or 19th April 2025.
  • Students who qualify for the second phase will be contacted to determine the place and time of their on-campus test.
  • Students who scored 70% or more of the second phase (on-campus test) will enter the award rank.
  • In case of duplicate results or a tie, ranks will be determined by the applicant’s time spent taking the test. Students who complete the test in a shorter time will be qualified to place in a higher rank.
  • In case there is a duplicate result and a duplicate time stamp, ranks will be determined by conducting a draw.
  • Encouraging the application of mathematics in the student's daily life.
