Brief
Initiated in France in 1991, the Kangaroo Competition is one of the biggest mathematics competitions in the world. Since its establishment, more than 70 countries and around 6 million students participated in this competition. In 2022, with 600 registered students and approximately 400 participants, Kuwait hosted the first Annual Kangaroo Mathematics competition and was organized by Sabah Al Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity.
Participants Terms and Conditions:
Registration for the competition is made through the official Kangaroo website in Kuwait: www.kangarookw.org, and will be conducted in 2 phases with the following conditions:
- Phase one: all registered students will be examined online (February 11th, 2023).
- Phase two: those who score more than 80% in first phase will be examined on campus (March 18th, 2023).
- The competition is open for only residents in Kuwait.
- The competition targets all students from grade 1 to grade 12.
- The student should be committed to the dates and times of the exam (no postponing is allowed).
- Participation is free of charge.

Awards
Ranks are calculated according to the following terms and conditions:
- Students who score 80% or more of their online exam (1st phase) will be qualified to enter the (2nd phase on campus exam).
- Students who scored 80% or more of their on-campus exam (Phase 2) will enter the award rank.
- In case of duplicate results or a tie, ranks will be determined by the applicant’s time spent taking the exam. Students who complete the exam in a shorter time will be qualified to place in a higher rank.
- In case there is a duplicate result and a duplicate time stamp, ranks will be determined by conducting a draw.
